Make cute, edible diploma cookies using pirouline wafers and ribbon for simple, impressive graduation party favors.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 package (10 oz) pirouline wafer cookies
  • 1 cup white chocolate melting wafers
  • 1/4 cup dark chocolate melting wafers
  • Assorted colored satin ribbons (1/4 inch wide)
  • Food safe markers (optional, for writing dates)

Instructions

  1. Prepare your workspace by laying out wax paper or parchment paper on a flat baking sheet.
  2. Melt the white chocolate wafers according to package directions, usually in a microwave-safe bowl in 30-second intervals, stirring between each interval until smooth.
  3. Dip one end of each pirouline cookie into the melted white chocolate, coating about one inch of the cookie.
  4. Immediately place the dipped cookie onto the prepared wax paper.
  5. While the chocolate is still wet, wrap a small piece of colored satin ribbon around the dipped chocolate section to resemble a diploma tie. Secure the ribbon ends neatly.
  6. Allow the white chocolate to set completely at room temperature, or speed up the process by chilling the cookies for 10 minutes.
  7. Melt the dark chocolate wafers separately.
  8. Use a small spoon or a piping bag with a fine tip to drizzle thin lines of dark chocolate over the white chocolate section for added detail, if desired.
  9. If using food safe markers, write the graduation year or initials onto the white chocolate band once it is fully set.
  10. Once all chocolate is firm, your diploma cookies are ready to serve as themed party snacks or edible gifts.

Notes

  • For a cleaner look, you can dip the entire cookie in white chocolate and then wrap the ribbon around the middle before the chocolate sets.
  • If you want the ribbon to stay perfectly in place, you can use a tiny dot of melted chocolate to secure the ribbon ends before the main dip sets.
  • These cookies are best stored in an airtight container at cool room temperature for up to three days.
