Make this zesty and tart frozen paloma for a refreshing change from your usual margarita. This easy frozen drink is perfect for starting your weekend.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 2 cups frozen grapefruit segments
  • 1 cup fresh lime juice
  • 1/2 cup tequila blanco
  • 1/4 cup simple syrup
  • 1/2 cup chilled club soda or sparkling water
  • Grapefruit wedges, for garnish
  • Lime slices, for garnish

Instructions

  1. Place the frozen grapefruit segments, lime juice, tequila blanco, and simple syrup into a high-powered blender.
  2. Blend the ingredients until smooth. If the mixture is too thick, add a tablespoon of club soda at a time until you reach a slushy consistency.
  3. Taste the mixture and add more simple syrup if you prefer it sweeter, or more lime juice for extra tartness.
  4. Pour the blended mixture into glasses.
  5. Top each frozen paloma with a splash of chilled club soda for extra fizz.
  6. Garnish each glass with a grapefruit wedge and a lime slice. Serve immediately.

Notes

  • To make simple syrup, combine equal parts sugar and water in a saucepan and heat until the sugar dissolves. Cool completely before using.
  • For a non-alcoholic version, omit the tequila and increase the club soda to 1 cup.
  • You can substitute fresh pink grapefruit juice for the frozen segments if you do not have a strong blender, but add 1 cup of ice cubes.
