Make tender, crispy boneless chicken bites quickly in your air fryer. This recipe requires minimal oil and delivers big flavor for a simple dinner or appetizer.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1.5 lbs boneless, skinless chicken breast or thigh, cut into 1-inch pieces
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon onion powder
  • 1 teaspoon paprika
  • 1/2 teaspoon dried oregano
  • 1/4 teaspoon cayenne pepper (optional, for heat)

Instructions

  1. Place the cut chicken pieces in a medium bowl.
  2. Drizzle the chicken with olive oil and toss to coat evenly.
  3. In a small bowl, mix together the salt, pepper, garlic powder, onion powder, paprika, oregano, and cayenne pepper.
  4. Sprinkle the seasoning mix over the oiled chicken and toss well until every piece is coated.
  5. Preheat your air fryer to 380°F (195°C) for 5 minutes.
  6. Place the seasoned chicken bites in a single layer in the air fryer basket. Do not overcrowd the basket; cook in batches if necessary to ensure crispiness.
  7. Air fry for 10 to 12 minutes, shaking the basket halfway through the cooking time.
  8. Check the internal temperature; the chicken is done when it reaches 165°F (74°C) and the outside is golden brown and crispy.
  9. Remove from the air fryer and serve immediately.

Notes

  • For extra crispiness, you can lightly dust the seasoned chicken with 1 tablespoon of cornstarch before air frying.
  • If you prefer a saucy finish, toss the cooked bites in your favorite barbecue sauce or buffalo sauce immediately after removing them from the air fryer.
  • This recipe works well for making quick air fryer popcorn chicken.
  • Serve these juicy air fryer boneless chicken pieces with ranch dressing or honey mustard.
