Festive layered Jell-O shots in patriotic colors perfect for July 4th celebrations. Easy to make and a hit at parties.

Ingredients

  • 1 box (3 oz) red Jell-O (strawberry or cherry)
  • 1 box (3 oz) blue Jell-O (berry blue)
  • 1 cup boiling water (for each Jell-O color)
  • 1/2 cup cold water (for each Jell-O color)
  • 1/2 cup vodka (for each Jell-O color)
  • 1/2 cup whipped cream or coconut milk (for white layer)
  • 1/2 cup sweetened condensed milk (for white layer)
  • 1 envelope unflavored gelatin (for white layer)

Instructions

  1. Dissolve red Jell-O in 1 cup boiling water. Stir in 1/2 cup cold water and 1/2 cup vodka. Pour into shot glasses, filling one-third full. Chill for 1 hour or until set.
  2. For the white layer, mix 1/2 cup whipped cream or coconut milk with 1/2 cup sweetened condensed milk. Sprinkle 1 envelope unflavored gelatin over 1/4 cup cold water, let sit for 5 minutes, then heat until dissolved. Combine with cream mixture. Let cool slightly, then pour over red layer. Chill for 1 hour or until set.
  3. Dissolve blue Jell-O in 1 cup boiling water. Stir in 1/2 cup cold water and 1/2 cup vodka. Let cool slightly, then pour over white layer. Chill for 1 hour or until fully set.
  4. Serve chilled and enjoy responsibly.

Notes

  • Use clear plastic shot glasses for best presentation.
  • Adjust alcohol amount to taste.
  • For a non-alcoholic version, replace vodka with water or juice.
  • Make ahead and store in the fridge for up to 2 days.
